Śraddhikā

Picture of Śraddhikā

I first discovered meditation when I was 21 at the Wellington Buddhist Centre. After travelling and living in the UK, I came home to New Zealand and got involved with the Auckland Buddhist Centre in 2003. The opportunities for deepening friendship, study, and connection through the Triratna community have been a big part of my life ever since, helping me navigate the ups and downs of a full family and work life. I’ve also been part of the Buddhist Recovery Network for many years and I’m grateful for how the Dharma, meditation, and metta support those of us in recovery. I was ordained in July 2025 at Sudharshanaloka, a truly incredible experience.

My name Śraddhikā means “she has faith”. Faith in the Three Jewels and in everyone’s potential to wake up, grow, and live with more freedom and compassion. It’s a name that each day I work towards growing into more and more.
