Hunt for the Winter People

Starts 11 Aug 2017

A 'self-organising' retreat for and by mitras in the Triratna Buddhist Community.

Hunt for the Winter People

In the valley deep and cold…
we are the Winter People, rewilding our minds on the Land of Beautiful Vision.
Amidst the kauri ghost forest we walk the valleys and ridges, tracking the rootings of wild pork
along ditches lush with bitter watercress. Under jagged peaks and misty rain, we drink from the wild streams and spurn the creeping damp of doubt. With the home fire burning, we trace the flight path of the bees, up the Dharma road and past Padmasambhava’s cave, lit by glow-worm night-light. By the cool radiance of the rising moon we spiral, ever upwards, to the shining stupa and glittering moana. Luminous emptiness.

We are the Winter People. We are hunting and gathering. We are truth-seeking and dharma-faring. You are a fellow mitra in the community of friends. Join us under the waning moon in the eighth month for a long weekend kindling the warmth of sangha, shared practice, hearty kai and cosy fireside nights.

This is an O.m free event.

BYO:Red Bands, winter woollies, wet weather gear. Hotties provided.
