Working in Nature retreat

Starts 26 Feb 2027

working in nature retreats

These working in nature (WiN) weekends offer a friendly and informal opportunity to visit Sudarshanaloka, contribute to our trail maintenance efforts, and to meet members of our Buddhist community and other people who also enjoy nature. For those of you who have attended retreats here previously, this weekend provides an easy way to familiarise yourself with our wide network of trails.

These weekends also contribute indirectly to our Suvana (beautiful forest) project which protects the native flora and fauna of the land. This special project was launched in 2023 to improve our guardianship of the indegenous web of life which is threatened by rats, possums, stoats, and mice.

The cost for the weekend is just to cover food, but any additional donation towards the continued maintenance and upkeep of our retreat centre running is much appreciated. Accomodation is free in exchange for contributing to the weekend's work effort.

If you have loppers, hedge clippers, gloves (important), secateurs or other implements which could be helpful, please bring them along. We do have extras.

Hope to see you on one of these weekends. We try to hold them twice each year.
