Sudarshanaloka has been at the mythic heart of Triratna Buddhist practice in Aotearoa for over 20 years and many have supported this valuable spiritual resource in numerous ways. We're very grateful for the generosity of all who have contributed.
Although we've experienced challenging times, we have achieved so much in the last couple of years due to restricted donations for specific projects. This has included upgrades to solitary cabins and volunteer accommodation, purchasing a much needed 4WD utility vehicle and installing new batteries for solar power. We've also raised $18,000 so far towards a campaign to install heating in the bedrooms of the lower retreat centre.
Apart from financially supporting one part-time retreat centre host the rest of our regular team are largely volunteers. Even so, with the wave of health and economic challenges in the past couple of years we have experienced both reduced income and rapidly rising costs that haven't been covered by retreat fees alone.
An increase in income from monthly standing donations (MSD’s) would help us greatly towards effective budgeting for our rising day to day running costs.
Please set up an MSD today so that we can continue the vision of creating and maintaining a place that supports Awakening. We will immensely appreciate however much you can afford to give.
